With 46 votes in favor and 1 against, the Municipal Council of Stara Zagora agreed for the Vocational School of Computer Science and Mathematical Analysis to be named after the scientist and altruist Prof. Minko Balkanski, one of the founders of Balkanski-Panita Institute of Advanced Study.
The proposal to the Mayor of Stara Zagora and the Chairman of the Municipal Council was made by the School Board of Trustees “Council of Wise Men”.
With Resolution № 177 of 30 March 2020, the Municipal Council of Stara Zagora consented to open a Vocational School of Computer Science and Mathematical Analysis in the Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora. The school was opened by the Order of the Minister of Education on 21 May 2020 as a municipal school.
In the first school year, full enrolment was achieved. The school has 52 students in two classes, namely “Applied Programming” and “System Programming”. For the new school year 2021/2022, two new classes are planned in the same fields.
And today, June 14th, students of the Professional School of Computer Science and Mathematical Analysis “Prof. Minko Balkanski” in Stara Zagora met with the patron of their school.
